Budget Airlines in Central and South America
Central and South America came late to the low cost carrier style of airline but they are quickly catching up. Currently a handful of airlines — most of them based out of a particular country — fly routes throughout the region.
As with most budget airlines booking and purchasing tickets must be done through each company’s website. Some of these websites are only in Spanish which might present a problem for some tourists planning trips. But with a bit of patience (and maybe a Spanish-English dictionary) most travelers will be able to figure it out.
